Kate Beckinsale Lovely In White For Redbook

English beauty Kate Beckinsale scores yet another cover for the month of January, and this time happens to be for Redbook magazine.

The 38-year-old actress looks beautiful with barely there makeup and loose waves, while striking an adorable pose in a white little number for the lens of Gilles Bensimon.

The ‘Underworld‘ star talks to the magazine about doing nude scene.

“I think it’s worse nowadays, because you do something like that and somebody immediately makes a five-times as long feature on YouTube to rock music, and they play it over and over again. I’m not averse to doing a nude scene, but it would have to be something I felt I could really argue for in front of my daughter, and so far that hasn’t happened”, Kate tells Redbook.

Head below for a peek at Kate’s editorial:

Google Goes Gaga

Dressed in all black, with her newly highlighted hair in a bun and wearing John Lennon sunglasses, Lady Gaga sat down with Google V.P. of consumer products Marissa Mayer for an innovative interview that helped her interact with her fans called ‘Musicians @ Google Presents: Google Goes Gaga’.

During the 70-minute interview Gaga answered a stream of questions from her fans using the Google Moderator, a tool her fans used to submit questions via text or video on the singer’s YouTube channel and subsequently vote for the best ones.

While Gaga answered questions on Rebecca Black (that she’s a genius), to her tattoos ( they are all on the left side of her body) and even revealing her favourite YouTube video (David After the Dentist), it was the exclusive details of her second single “Judas” off her upcoming album “Born This Way” that whet our appetite.

Gaga revealed that she will be making her directorial debut for the “Judas” video, with the help of creative director Laurieann Gibson, who is of course Gaga’s longtime choreographer.

“I’m very excited. Actually, I can exclusively reveal here at Google that I will be making my directorial debut with Laurieann Gibson, directing
this video with her ourselves”, Gaga revealed.

Gaga who has never shied away from controversy before confirmed that the video will include religious allegory.

“It’s no surprise, I’m sure, to many of you, that Judas is a man of the biblical
senses, so expect to see some symbolism in this video”, she said.

Furthermore, the pop singer shared some of the lyrics of the RedOne-produced song with her fans. “When he comes to me, I am ready/ I’ll wash his feet with my hair if he needs/ Forgive him when his tongue lies through his brain/ Even after three times, he betrays me/ I’ll bring him down, a king with no crown”, Gaga uttered.

The Power of American Idol

It seems that while we were caught up over who will be the top diva of 2011 between Lady Gaga and Britney Spears, we might have underestimated the potential of another diva in the form of Jennifer Lopez.

‘Jenny From the Block’ in back on top of the world after her down period and it’s all thanks to the power of American Idol. Yes, it appears that the show not only puts aspiring artists on the map, but also propels pooped out artists back on the map.

Let’s be honest in recent years J.Lo has sort of blended into the background. It wasn’t until it was announced late last year that she will be part of the new panel of judges on American Idol that we started to get fixated with her all over again. All of a sudden she started to make better music again. J.Lo’s new found role on American Idol coincided with the release of a new single accompanied by an exquisitely-executed music video.

Just minutes before American Idol’s wild card results were made known on Thursday, J.Lo stole the show with the debut of the music video for her new song “On the Floor”. The video brought us back the big-haired, long luscious legs and glitzy J.Lo we loved years ago.

J.Lo makes a couple of bold statements with the party-themed video. She’s saying I’m not just a mama, I’m a hot mama. I might be a 41-year old, but I still know how to get down and have fun.

The singer is also claiming her hallmark in the fashion world. She’s saying while Lady Gaga and Rihanna are dominating the fashion scene at the moment, I was here first and I’m still in it.

In the video, J.Lo switches from a gold high collar and leaves gown, to a crystal bodysuit as well as just a bikini bra in one scene, while pairing those looks with gold gladiator heels and big chandelier earrings and dangling lazily on a coach like the queen she is in one cut.

The video has been getting plenty of viral love. In just four days, the video has acquired more than 15 million views of YouTube, surpassing Gaga’s “Born This Way” (13+ million views), which debuted 3 days earlier, along the way.

The song serves as the first single to be taken off J.Lo’s seventh studio album “Love?”, under her new record label, Island Def Jam, after ending her ten-year partnership with Epic Records. The album is scheduled for a April 19 release date.

The song is very up-beat and has all the right flavours of a memorable latin dance hit. The song features rapper Pitbull, which is a really good move on J.Lo’s part. After all in the last year, the rapper has managed to introduce one latina pop star into the dungeons of dance music – Enrique Iglesias with “I like It” – and earn one R&B singer the title of the ‘comeback kid’ of 2010 with a dance tune – Usher with “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love”. The song was co-written and produced by RedOne.

“On The Floor” is currently NO.1 on iTunes and debuted at NO.9 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it J.Lo’s first top 10 charting song since the 2003 “All I Have”.

Willow Smith is a 21st Century Girl

First of all it should be illegal to be this charismatic at that age. While most 10-year olds battle it out for a role in their elementary school play, Willow Smith is busy taking over the world.

The prodigy daughter of Hollywood power couple Will and Jada Pinkett Smith has just released the music video for her latest song “21st Century Girl” – the follow-up to the neck-pain inducing hit “Whip My Hair”. Once again Willow proves that she is one of the cool kids, with all the swagga she brings into the video.

Willow is a 21st century girl – if you really think about it she was born in the 21st century – and she wants you to know it. “21st Century Girl” is a dancey track and has a very catchy chorus. Willow’s sound on the song further heighten the Rihanna comparison.

The lyrics are rebellious and empowering – “Danger is beauty…I like to rock the beat…21st century girl…I do what I like”. The video for the song merely illustrates that, Willow just wants to have fun.

In the intro of the video an old lady is seen in what appears to be a black magic inspired scene. Honestly though, the video could have done without any of that. The scene is very eerie and I’m still confused over the old lady’s purpose in the video.

But once Willow makes her entrance you quickly forget about the old lady. Willow takes us on a joy ride that starts in the rustic idyll of the desert and ends in the hippy realm of the city. Just like in “Whip My Hair”, Willow sanctions the help of her peers, some really cool dance moves and fashion-forward ensembles to take us on her journey.

While the jury is still out on whether the song will measure up to the success of its predecessor, we can only hope for the best. “Whip My Hair” managed a peak of NO.11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and as of now has had more than 44 million views on YouTube.

Willow will release her debut album under Jay-Z’s record label Roc Nation, although the release date hasn’t been set yet. She’s is currently the opening act for Justin Bieber’s UK Tour.

Lady Gaga delivers yet again

Lady Gaga imitate Madonna's iconic front teeth gap

Lady Gaga imitate Madonna’s iconic front teeth gap

Just five days after the release of her “Born This Way” music video, Lady Gaga has created yet another viral phenomenon. As of now the sensational video has acquired more than 9.4 million views on YouTube.

It comes as no surprise since Gaga delivers on the video – no pun intended. The almost eight-minute long video is a pop culture aura, a feast for the eyes, a fashion parade and a dance spectacle.

What makes the video even more fantastical is that Gaga tackles a very serious issue in a fun manner. Amid the frenzy at G.O.A.T (Government Owned Alien Territory in Space) Gaga delivers her important message of gender equality. As she narrates this is the birth of a new race, a race that will have no prejudice or judgment but boundless freedom you can’t argue that you’re witnessing the spawn of a new human race. The message is further decoded with the use of the inverted pink triangle seen throughout the video, a symbol of gay rights.

After the lengthy introduction, Gaga appears in a bikini and as the song kicks off with the words “It doesn’t matter if you love him, of capital H-I-M”, what follows will leave you begging for more. Gaga engages in a binding orgy scene, dance around in her underwear and ramble with her Zombie lover Rico in a Thierry Mugler tuxedo.

As she has done prior, Gaga again tribute late fashion designer Alexander McQueen. It’s vividly clear in the beginning of the video when she is giving birth that the scene was strongly influenced by McQueen’s final collection, which featured feathers, mock scales and faux wings.

Towards the end of the video the singer tributes yet another legend, this time Michael Jackson as she emerges from a dark alley, sporting white gloves, which can be seen as her impression of MJ in the “Billie Jean” video.

In true Gaga style, she close the video with a bit of humour. As her way of recognising the “Express Yourself” comparison to her song, Gaga pays homage to Madonna by mimicking her iconic front teeth gap
