Nicki Minaj Transformed Into An 18th-Century Courtesan For W

Rapper Nicki Minaj is going back in time for the November Art & Fashion Issue of W magazine.

The First Lady Of Young Money is transformed into a fancy 18th-century courtesan by Italian artist Francesco Vezzoli. The 28-year-old dons a Dior Haute Couture silk chiffon embroidered gown and sports a humongous side-bun on the cover.

Styled by Edward Enninful, the ‘Fly’ singer recreates four iconic portraits of the most famous courtesans in history including the Marquise de – Montespan, Comtesse du Barry (on the cover), Madame de Pompadour and Madame Rimsky-Korsakov. Check it all out below:

Nicki Minaj Is A Dominatrix For Cosmo

First Lady of Young Money Nicki Minaj channels a dominatrix on the cover of the November issue of US Cosmopolitan magazine.

The usually flamboyant rapper takes it down a notch this time around, but still flaunts her larger than life bust in a sexy leather dress on the cover. Nicki rocks a funky bob with bangs, pink lips as well as matching nails.

The 28-year-old ‘Fly’ singer opens up to the magazine about having suicidal thoughts before hitting it big as a world class female MC.

“It was one dead-end after another. At one point, I was like, ‘What would happen if I just didn’t wake up?’ That’s how I felt — like maybe I should just take my life”, Nicki tells Cosmo.

Drake Unveils Golden ‘Take Care’ Album Cover

Following his platinum-selling and critically acclaimed 2010 debut album ‘Thank Me Later’, Canadian rapper Drake will be hoping for the same success with his follow-up offering ‘Take Care’, set to be released on his 25th birthday, October 24.

The 24-year-old Young Money prodigy has just unveiled the cover art for the album expected to be the released in three versions — the standard edition, Birthday Edition, and Take Care OG Ron C Edition. The artwork features the blinged-up ‘Headlines’ rapper dressed in black and dining in a gilded setting, with a gold goblet, candlestick and of course his signature OVO (October’s Very Own) owl seen on the table in front of him.

Artists such as Stevie Wonder, J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and The Weeknd are all expected to feature on the album.

 

Nicki Minaj Is A Colourful Barbie For Glamour

Sporting a platinum blonde bob, rapper Nicki Minaj is a dolled-up Barbie for her October Glamour magazine editorial.

Photographed mostly in very colourful designs to coincide with her always flamboyant demeanor, the 28-year-old talks to the magazine about her insecurities.

“We all have insecurities, but you have to know you’re beautiful. I’m comfortable in my skin and I don’t feel the need to change for anyone”, the ‘Super Bass’ rapper points out to Glamour.

The rapper finds herself in a very familiar territory on the cover of the world’s first digital lifestyle magazine with a big wig, wild flamboyant make-up and a kepi to complete the look.

 

Nicki Minaj Glams Up For ELLE

The first lady of Young Money Nicki Minaj cleans up for her fashion spread in the May issue of Elle magazine. Photographed by Terry Tsiolis the Hip Hop prodigy ditches her usual eccentric big wigs and colourful elaborate outfits for a more glamorous yet eager look.

The barbie doll rapper who’s success is often compared to that of Lauryn Hill during her early days and her style to that of nemesis Lil Kim says her success is attributed to the fact that she thinks of herself as one of the boys and not just another female rapper.

“When I write, I don’t try to compete with any other female rapper. The only way you’re going to push your pen is to think, I’ve got to shut these dudes down”, Nicki tells Elle.

The 26-year-old further tells the magazine that she has turned down many offers in the past to write sexually explicit lyrics, citing she is more than just a sex symbol.

“I’ve turned down like a billion of requests for sexually explicit lyrics. People just have to just start understanding that it’s not the only thing I have to talk about, it?’s not the only thing I want to talk about, it’s not the only thing I’m going to talk about”, she explains in Elle.

Nicki also explains one of her many alter egos in the magazine, Roman Zolanski, saying: “Roman is a weird little alter ego who is very flamboyant and doesn’t give a damn. You know when I’m doing really weird voices, growling, being real crazy, and talking like Anna Nicole Smith? That’s Roman”.
