Avant-garde actress Helena Bonham Carter takes her eccentric style to the pages of the June issue of UK Harper’s Bazaar.
For the fairytale-esque shoot, taken by photographer J.R. Mankoff, the ‘Dark Shadows‘ star rocks her signature messy and curly updo, with a side braid. Helena looks chic in an Vivienne Westwood dress and a Nerida Fraiman hat, as she dangles on a tree swing. Below, the 45-year-old dons a strapless Alexander McQueen dress, paired with Christian Louboutin shoes and a lace Rachel Black headpiece.
Helena shares with the magazine the best on-set moment of her film career.
“Having Brad Pitt on top of me in Fight Club, covered in stickers (for special effect) but otherwise nude. Jesus that was a great day. It was before I met Tim (Burton). I just remember having lots of chats. Brad was a real gentleman. He told me about the person he’d just met, who turned out to be Jennifer Aniston. We talked about his interest in photography and architecture. It was hilarious”, Helena tells Harper’s Bazaar.

Head below to checkout all the red carpet action, where black was clearly the colour of the night.

The 39th Annual American Music Awards took place last night (20 November) and was it the biggest snoozefest of the year. The red carpet was one big doze-off too, with red carpet firm favourites Lady Gaga, Rihanna (both in the UK) and Beyonce (attending the ‘Live At Roseland: Elements Of 4‘ screening) not making an appearance. Highlights of the night included British songstress Adele finally getting some American recognition, with her critically acclaimed album ‘21‘ winning favourite album as well as pop crooner Bruno Mars surprisingly and deservedly winning favourite male artist over teen sensation Justin Bieber. Country starlet Taylor Swift was of course the big winner of the night once again. Head below for all the red carpet fashion:
R&B diva Jennifer Hudson flaunted her gorgeous new figure in a Jenny Packham draped little number.
One of the night’s best-dressed was actress Jenny McCarthy in a puffy Victoria Beckham dress. Love her chic retro side-swept curl and popping red lips.
‘Modern Family‘ actress Julie Bowen looked a mess in her mini dress and messy hair. This look would have been more fitting for her much younger co-star below.
Justin Bieber and girlfriend Selena Gomez got loveydovey, with Selena failing to impress in her satin Armani dress.
Rocking a side ponytail, Taylor Swift looked beautiful in a Reem Acra glittery strapless gown. Wait a minute, haven’t we seen this dress on her before?!

Katy Perry has always been a girlie girl and a lover of all things colourful, so it’s with no surprise that she covers the rainbow array of colour issue of Plastic Dreams magazine.
The magazine is published by Brazilian footwear powerhouse Melissa, which is renowned for its scented plastic shoes and has in the past collaborated with designers Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier.
The Teenage Dream singer covers the magazine’s fourth edition, following in the footsteps of Kate Moss, Agyness Deyn, and Dita Von Teese. Perry’s cover marks the magazine’s worldwide debut as the previous three issues were only released in Brazil.
The focus of the shoot is on the shoes really, but a Barbie looking Perry almost takes the spotlight off the shoes with her conventional beauty. The spread is fitting to Perry’s style – it’s colourful, lively, tropical and a fairytale fantasy.
