Lady Gaga Is Part Human, Part Machine

Undoubtedly the most innovative, aesthetic and mind-bending album cover I have seen in a while. Lady Gaga has unveiled the artwork for “Born This Way” album cover.

Gaga is part human, part a machine in this deliriously over the top Nick Knight shot cover. Her hair is in a frenzy state like she was on an 80-mile ride, with her hands motioned as part of the spokes and mouth opened like a vampire ready to attack. Her red lips are the only bright thing in this dark battlefield.

It’s bizarre, it’s stupendous, it’s unexpected, it’s Gaga and she was born this way. This cover illustrates that this mind-vomiting wench in so far as doing things the normal way is beyond repentance, but in the cultural sense she speak in future tense and if you are offenced by her wear an eye condom

Adele Grace Rolling Stone

British songstress Adele continues with her world domination, as this time she grace her first Rolling Stone cover. Looking rather punkish with her voluminous hair, the singer covers the magazine’s “Best Of Rock 2011” issue.

The 22-year diva could not have covered the magazine at a better time, as the magazine has been receiving a lot of criticism lately for putting people with ‘no real music talent’ on the cover.

Adele’s “21” spent its fourth non-consecutive week atop the Billboard Albums chart this past week, becoming the first album to cross the 1 million mark this year. In the UK, Adele’s sophomore offering has spent 11 consecutive weeks atop the albums chart ever since its debut in late January.

Adele tells the magazine she’s very comfortable and happy with her weight.

“My life is full of drama and I won’t have time to worry about something as petty as what I look like. I don’t like going to the gym. I like eating fine foods and drinking nice wine. Even if I had a really good figure, I don’t think I’d get my t**s and a** out for no one. I love seeing Lady Gaga’s boobs and bum. I love seeing Katy Perry’s boobs and bum. Love it. But that’s not what my music is about. I don’t make music for eyes, I make music for ears”.

Adele also tells the magazine that ‘Sasha Fierce’, her idol Beyonce’s alter ego, has helped her get over a few stage frights. “I was about to meet Beyonce and I had a full-blown anxiety attack. Then she popped in looking gorgeous, and said, ‘You’re amazing! When I listen to you I feel like I’m listening to God’. I went out on the balcony crying hysterically, and I said, ‘What would Sasha Fierce do’ That’s when Sasha Carter was born”, she says.

Keri Hilson, Ashley Tisdale & More Pose Nude For Allure

For Allure magazine’s Annual Body Issue in May, stars such as Keri Hilson, Ashley Tisdale, Kaley Cuoco and Bridget Moynahan strip down and flaunt all their sexy assets for the camera.

It seems that it wasn’t a ‘no boys allowed’ affair during the four ladies’ alluring photoshoot, as male photographer Patrick Demarchelier lensed them for the May issue. The photos are very artful and not done in a distasteful manner at all.

Bridget (40), who is the oldest of the ladies tells the magazine “I never roam around in bikinis, and I am only naked in the privacy of my own home. In this electronic age, it’s not safe to be naked anywhere else, even in locker rooms.”

Miss Keri Baby proves that not only do pretty girls rock, but they also drop all their clothes off in front of the camera, for the rest of the world to see their sexy bits.

“We do a lot of things to seek validation: I have to get more expensive handbags or fake lashes or fake boobs. This shoot was about dropping all that. It’s so empowering to embrace my insecurities.”, Keri tell Allure.

“High School Musical” star shock us all as she decides to get rid of her good girl image by dropping all her clothes off and baring her gorgeous back for the magazine.

Ashley explains her reason for baring all for the magazine as: “I’m 25, almost 26, but people think of me as much younger because I look young. Being in this shoot was me saying, ‘I’m not just the young girl everybody thinks I am. I’m actually a woman.”

For “Big Bang Theory” star Kaley it didn’t take much for her to strip down for the magazine. She tells Allure “”I was way more excited than I ever thought I would be, which made me realize, I’m more comfortable in my own skin than I thought.”

Deja Vu: Rihanna Half Naked On FHM Cover

Rihanna scores yet another magazine cover. The red-haired beauty covers the May issue of FHM Australia, wearing close to nothing.

By now you are probably going, but I’ve seen this photo of Rihanna before; wearing a bustier, fishnet stockings and her signature red hair sleek. The answer is yes, you’ve seen this photo before. The cover is a reincarnation of the January edition of British GQ.

However, it’s not the exact same picture. Here Rihanna sports a far more provocative and sex appealing pose than the photo used for GQ. I like the FHM photo better, you can hardly see the bustier if you’re not looking closely, giving the illusion that our dear RiRi is topless. Her facial expression and fingers in mouth equates to the dominatrix Rihanna really is.

I like the headline on the cover too, which reads: “Better than Gaga, hotter than Perry…Rihanna. Crazy.Sexy.Cool”. The three words mentioned in the latter of the headline are right on the money. If you search for the meaning of these three words in the dictionary, you will find a picture of Rihanna right under.

In an exclusive interview with the magazine the singer reveals that her favourite tattoo is the one inked on her chest and reads “Never a failure, always a lesson”. The S&M singer explains that the tattoo is inscribed backwards so that she can read it herself in the mirror

Gwen Stefani Talks No Doubt’s New Album In Elle

After almost a 10-year absence of not releasing a new studio album, rock band No Doubt announced that they are working on new material last year. Frontwoman Gwen Stefani talks a bit about the upcoming album in the May issue of Elle magazine.

The female rocker says they have already recorded 10 songs, with most of them recorded in Los Angeles.

“All of it, yeah [is being recorded in Los Angeles]. Because Tony [Kanal] has a studio in his house. It’s amazing. He has this old house overlooking Hollywood – it’s all windows. I made him put up curtains because I’m like, ‘I don’t know if I can write with all windows. It needs to be dark in here.’ We’ve already recorded 10 songs”, She tells Elle.

Stefani who last recorded an album with No Doubt during the 2001″Rock Steady” says there isn’t that much pressure to releases the record after such a long period.

“Everyone’s always like, ‘When’s the record coming out!’ I think after doing the solo records, I just felt out of ideas. We tried writing, and I tried writing, and I couldn’t write. So we were like, ‘You know what? Let’s just go on tour, and that will inspire us”, Stefani says.

The L.A.M.B. fashion designer poses for the lenses of photographer Dusan Reljin in designs of her own and more. Here is the spread:

Nicki Minaj Glams Up For ELLE

Nicki Minaj 3

The first lady of Young Money Nicki Minaj cleans up for her fashion spread in the May issue of Elle magazine. Photographed by Terry Tsiolis the Hip Hop prodigy ditches her usual eccentric big wigs and colourful elaborate outfits for a more glamorous yet eager look.

The barbie doll rapper who’s success is often compared to that of Lauryn Hill during her early days and her style to that of nemesis Lil Kim says her success is attributed to the fact that she thinks of herself as one of the boys and not just another female rapper.

“When I write, I don’t try to compete with any other female rapper. The only way you’re going to push your pen is to think, I’ve got to shut these dudes down”, Nicki tells Elle.

The 26-year-old further tells the magazine that she has turned down many offers in the past to write sexually explicit lyrics, citing she is more than just a sex symbol.

“I’ve turned down like a billion of requests for sexually explicit lyrics. People just have to just start understanding that it’s not the only thing I have to talk about, it?’s not the only thing I want to talk about, it’s not the only thing I’m going to talk about”, she explains in Elle.

Nicki also explains one of her many alter egos in the magazine, Roman Zolanski, saying: “Roman is a weird little alter ego who is very flamboyant and doesn’t give a damn. You know when I’m doing really weird voices, growling, being real crazy, and talking like Anna Nicole Smith? That’s Roman”.

Here is her fashion spread in the magazine:

A Heavily Pregnant Mariah Carey Bares All

We all knew it was coming. After all Christina Aguilera did it, so did Britney Spears and even Demi Moore. Now we have one more name to add to that list of great ladies, yes, Mariah Carey too has taken all her clothes off to expose her massive pregnant belly on the cover of Life & Style.

It seems while a heavily pregnant Mariah looks just about ready to pop at any minute, she still had time and the energy to take all her clothes off and bare her naked tummy to rest of the world to admire.

The is nothing sexier than a voluptuous stomach and its luscious skin, Mimi knows it and now she wants us to see it for ourselves. While the ladies I mentioned above went all out for their covers, showing their naked bottom half, Mariah held back a little in comparison. However, even though subtle, she still looks gorgeous.

Mariah tells Life & Style “I was feeling very vulnerable about taking pictures at all right now, but then I didn’t want to miss this opportunity to document this once-in-a-lifetime experience…My ultimate goal was to share this incredibly personal moment with my true fans.”

The singer who is expecting twins (a boy and girl) with husband Nick Cannon further tells the magazine “The babies were kicking almost the entire time; it was unbelievable, especially the girl – clearly she’s a diva in training! We didn’t start shooting until 1:30 a.m. because I was in the hospital from the night before until the day of the shoot with contractions five minutes apart!”

The issue hits newsstands on Friday, 08 April.

A Look At ELLE’s ‘Ladies in Music’ Issue

Remember last week I brought you a sneak peek of the May issue of Elle magazine (America) with Swedish singer Robyn on the cover. Well turns out that’s the subscriber’s cover. The lady that managed to secure Elle’s Newsstands cover is “No Doubt” rocker Gwen Stefani.

The May edition of Elle honours “Ladies in Music”, including veterans such as Stevie Nicks and Aretha Franklin as well as soulful divas such as Adele and Jennifer Hudson. India pop singers Feist and Florence Welch, Country songstress Hillary Scott as well as newcomers Nicki Minaj and Willow Smith also makes the issue.

41-year old Stefani looks gorgeous on the cover with her signature blonde hair and in a stretch wool dress with leather trim by Givenchy on the cover.

Nicki Minay

Of all the “Ladies in Music” featured in the issue, rapper Nicki Minaj strikes the sexiest pose of them all. A sultry looking Nicki dons a knit minidress by Mark Fast. Nicki says the following on being a female rapper in the magazine: “I always wanted to play with the boys. I didn’t want to be a pawn in their game or have a sidekick role. I wanted to be more of a lead character – a superhero”

Adele

British songstress Adele looks sexy and sensual in the magazine. The 22-year-old wears a Burberry dress with jewelry by Eddie Borgo. The singer/songwriter talks about the love songs written about her ex in the magazine: “We’re not on great enough terms for me to say, ‘Oh, have you heard my record? It’s number one; did you know?”

Jennifer Hudson

R&B diva Jennifer Hudson is seductively beautiful in the issue. The singer dons a Diane von Furstenberg beaded silk dress. The Oscar winner tells the magazine of performing in gay clubs when she was younger: “In high school I was like, ‘Well, these are drag queens lip-synching, and I can really sing; why can’t I go up there?’ I would win all the talent shows”

Florence Welch

Florence Welch looks stunning in a Silk bodysuit and monogram skirt by Louis Vuitton. She also wears a Silk-trim cotton crepe bra and panty from Araks. The India Pop singer tells Elle the following on performing at the 2010 MTV Music Video Awards: “It was my intro to America. And they could have sent me packing if it hadn’t gone so well”

Williow Smith

“Whip My Hair” singer Willow Smith is the youngest to be featured in the “Ladies in Music” issue. The 10-year-old looks chic in this specially custom-made ensemble. Willow tease in the magazine about her forthcoming full length album: “It’s going to be a party beat. I think you’re gonna like it!”

Robyn

Swedish singer Robyn covers Elle magazine’s subscriber’s issue with her blonde pixie cut. The singer wears a baroque-motif Prada dress. Robyn explains the creative process of her latest album, ‘Body Talk’ in the magazine: “At first it was a way of having more fun. Then it started to influence how I communicated with my fans – how to bring new music into a live set throughout the whole year”

Gwen Stefani

When Fashion designers Gwen Stefani is asked by Elle on whether Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Katy Perry have taken a page out of her playbook when it comes to style, she replies: “Really? I don’t see myself in those girls. I usually put pants on. I see these girls as more going for the sex-symbol thing. I was more, in the band, like a tomboy. Of course, I think every girl is sexy, so there’s going to be a little of that But I see a lot of younger artists going more toward the sexy thing”

Gwen Stefani

The L.A.M.B designer further opens up about her marriage to Gavin Rosdale: “The first time we ever kissed was right around Valentine’s Day. We were in New Orleans on tour. So, yeah, I always think about that because it’s unbelievable that we’ve been able to stay together. I feel so proud of us. It’s one of my biggest achievements”

Stevie Nicks

Veteran rocker Stevie Nicks is also featured in the May issue. Stevie tells the magazine the following on her music: “What I always wanted was to affect people. Especially women in rock n roll and what they could write about. We are a force of nature”

Hillary Scott

Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum dons a Chanel lambskin jacket with a cotton T-shirt by Armani and Studded leather boots from Azzedine Alaïa in the May issue. The Country singer says the following in the magazine about Lady Antebellum’s songs: “There aren’t a ton of people in this country who will understand songs about riding a tractor through a pasture. But when it comes to falling in love and out of love and getting your heart broken, there’s no way you can’t understand what the song’s about.

Aretha Franklin

Legendary R&B diva Aretha Franklin talks about her wardrobe options for her tour in the magazine: “I am going to rock this [size] 16. Sixteen probably sounds large to girls who wear 10s and 12s, but I love it, because it looks good on me”

Feist

Canadian singer Feist also makes the cut for the Issue. The 35-year-old singer looks elegant in a Stella McCartney viscose jacket And a chiffon blouse by Jill Stuart. Feist tells Elle this on wanting to take a break after the success of her song ‘1234’: “I was ready to take 10, 20 years off”
