Hollywood A-Listers came out in big numbers last night (07 May), all in the name of fashion, to celebrate the 2012 Costume Institute Gala (Met Ball). Held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the event was co-chaired by British actress Carey Mulligan, designer Miuccia Prada, and US Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. This year’s event honoured Prada and late Italian designer Elsa Schiaparelli.

Carey Mulligan, with her chic crop, shines in a gold/silver Prada paillette dress.
The devil really does wear Prada. Anna Wintour ditched Chanel for this year’s event, and went for a white Prada gown, with a gold lobster applique — an homage to Schiaparelli perhaps.
‘Video Games‘ singer Lana Del Rey looked dark and vampy in a silver sequin dress, with a cape, by Joseph Altuzarra.

A simple, yet beautiful, head shot of Hollywood leading lady Julia Roberts appears on the cover of the April issue of Vanity Fair magazine.
Photographed by Mario Sorrenti, the ‘Mirror Mirror‘ actress dons loose and romantic curly hair.
The 44-year-old actress points out to the magazine how difficult and different entering into showbiz is now, compared to when she started out.
“The business is so different; you can never be that new girl that has that moment of ‘Where’d she come from?’. There’s the express elevator and there’s rehab. It’s so awful; nobody gets a fair trial-and-error period that everybody deserves and everybody needs”, Julie explains to Vanity Fair.

Dracula-browed actress Lily Collins looks delightfully charming on the cover of the March issue of Seventeen magazine.
The 22-year-old ‘Mirror Mirror‘ starlet tells the magazine how she really feel about her bushy eyebrows.
“It used to bother me — having bigger, fuller brows. I even plucked them once so I’d fit in, but I hated them and couldn’t wait for them to grow back. Now I embrace them. I’ve realized the quirky things that make you different are what make you beautiful”, Lily points out to Seventeen.

Armie Hammer may have been snubbed by the Oscars for his role as the frustrated lover of J. Edgar Hoover in Clint Eastwood‘s ‘J. Edgar‘, but the 25-year-old actor has something else to brighten his spirits.
The ‘Mirror Mirror’ heartthrob has scored a feature in the February issue of US Vogue, striking a pose for the lens of Norman Jean Roy on a horse ranch.
Even though Armie is from a distinguished family, his great-grandfather was oil tycoon and billionaire philanthropist Armand Hammer, he insists that he is not interested in all of that.
“I’m not part of any dynasty. I act because I love it. I think you can make art doing it”, Armie explains to Vogue.
