All The Fashion At The 2013 SAG Awards

Sunday, 27 January, saw the Screen Actor Guild (SAG) hand out its iconic nude male figure, mostly referred to as ‘The Actor’, to outstanding performers of the season in both the small and big screen. The Ben Affleck-directed hostage-crisis film ‘Argo‘ once again took top honours at the SAG Awards, further positioning itself as a strong contender for ‘Best Picture’ at the Oscars. The 19th Annual SAG Awards also recognized Jennifer Lawrence, Claire Danes, Daniel Day-Lewis and more.

‘Scandal‘ sweetheart Kerry Washington kept in minimalist in a winter white Rodarte structured dress.

Julianne Moore showed some sexy cleavage in a black and white Chanel gown, with a plunging neck.

Fiery-haired ‘Zero Dark Thirty‘ beauty Jessica Chastain matched the red carpet in her custom Alexander McQueen strapless gown.

‘Homeland‘ heroine Claire Danes, with vampy plum lips, went for a gothic glam look in this one-shoulder Givenchy dress.

BEST-DRESSED: Pixie-haired Anne Hathaway stole the show in a fresh-off-the-runway tulle Giambattista Valli couture gown

‘The Paperboy‘ leading lady Nicole Kidman looked gorgeous in a midnight blue Vivienne Westwood couture gown.

‘Les Miserables‘ starlet Amanda Seyfried, with romantic side-swept curls, donned a strapless Zac Posen mermaid gown.

‘Downton Abbey‘ actress Michelle Dockery kept it simple and elegant in this black Chado Ralph Rucci dress.

Purple-haired Kelly Osbourne looked stunning in a black beaded Jenny Packham number.

BEST-DRESSED: ‘Mad Men‘ star January Jones opted for a monochromatic Prabal Gurung dress. She completed her fashion-forward look with an edgy quiff.

BEST-DRESSED: Sporting retro waves, Rose Byrne stood out in a ruffled floral print Valentino creation.

‘Rust and Bone‘ goddess Marion Cotillard wore a starpless two-toned Dior ball-gown.

 

All The Fashion At The 2013 Golden Globes

On Sunday night (13 January), it was the turn of the 90+ members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) to make their top selections in television and film excellence at the 70th Annual Golden Globes. Actor-turned-filmmaker Ben Affleck was once again the top pick of the night, snagging both ‘Best Director’ and ‘Best Picture (Drama)’ for his masterpiece ‘Argo‘. Other big winners of night included ‘Girls‘ creator Lena Dunham, everything ‘Homeland‘, Hugh Jackman, Christoph Waltz and Daniel Day-Lewis.

Held at the Beverly Hilton hotel, everyone in Hollywood came out to play, dolled-up in red pops, basic blacks, shimmering golds, asymmetrical cuts and bold prints. Checkout the standout red carpet looks, below:

Michelle Dockery Travels Back To The 60s With Interview

The star of critically acclaimed English period drama ‘Downton Abbey‘ Michelle Dockery finds herself stranded in an unfamiliar era in the October/November issue of US Interview magazine.

For the 75% black and white shoot, taken by Boo George, the 30-year-old beauty takes to the street as a chic and free-spirited ’60s siren.

Michelle talks to the magazine about how the fashion has changed on season 3 of ‘Downton Abbey’.

“The third season is my favorite because the shapes are really changing. We’ve moved out of corsets, the waist drops — there’s a looser feel and it’s more adaptable to modern day. There are some things I wear on the show that I could actually get away with wearing today. There’s quite a leap from the second season to the third”, Michelle explains to Interview.

Michelle Dockery Brings English Elegance To Harper’s Bazaar

Emmy-nominated ‘Downton Abbey‘ goddess Michelle Dockery brings some English elegance to the September issue of US Harper’s Bazaar magazine.

The 30-year-old actress, who is also promoting her upcoming film ‘Anna Karenina‘, explains to the magazine why she thinks a period drama as ‘Downton Abbey’ is such a hit in the US.

“I think some period drama can be quite alienating, but Downton isn’t. This is going to sound quite, um, pretentious, but someone said that it’s like a soap written by a poet. I used to get quite defensive of people saying it’s soaplike, but it kind of is”, Michelle tells Bazaar.

For her classic chic feature, captured by the lens of Benjamin A. Huseby, Michelle wears modern and sleek creations by Ralph Lauren, Alberta Ferretti, J. Mendel, Etro and Tom Ford.

Downton Abbey Fever Hits Love

The Emmys are not the only ones showing some love to British period and costume soap opera Downton Abbey. Downtown Abbey fever is also taking over the Fall/Winter Issue #8 of Love magazine.

The Crawley sisters — Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery), Lady Edith (Laura Carmichael) and Lady Sybil (Jessica Brown Findlay) — star on the three different high-fashion and ethereal covers of the magazine, captured by noted photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
