Noomi Rapace Goes Supernova For Dazed & Confused

Swedish goddess Noomi Rapace is featured on the artistic and futuristic cover of the June issue of Dazed & Confused magazine.

The ‘Prometheus‘ star experiences a supernova on the Solve Sundsbo-shot cover, with her sizable bionic head adorning most of the cover, while a smaller and dreamy version of her face peeks from the former’s cracked roof.

The 32-year-old actress shares with the magazine how it was like to play Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish/Danish film adaptation of ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo‘.

“I gave Lisbeth my life for one-and-a half years, and it messed me up. I was glad to let her go. I felt, ‘Just leave me now, I need to come back to life’. I was probably a pain in the arse to be with at that time. I don’t like to pretend, I don’t like to fake… I slowly melt together with my characters”, Noomi points out to Dazed & Confused.

Rooney Mara Gets Soft For Allure

We are so used to seeing girl-of-the-moment Rooney Mara styled in an edgy manner, so much so that one has to do a double take to ensure that it’s really her on the cover of the January issue of Allure.

‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo‘ star graces the magazine’s year opener edition, refreshingly styled in a very soft and elegant way. Photographed by Michael Thompson, the 26-year-old actress looks like Demi Moore with slicked-back hair.

Rooney sheds some light on why director David Fincher went with an unknown person for the role of Lisbeth Salander.

“I don’t think David’s intention was ever to hire someone well-known. To make this movie, he needed someone that people were unfamiliar with because it’s the only way they would really believe this character. She’s such a mystery. You couldn’t hire someone that people already have a relationship with”, Rooney explains to Allure.

Rooney Mara Creepy For Dazed & Confused

Hollywood‘s next big thing Rooney Mara has landed the cover of the January issue of Dazed & Confused magazine.

Photographed by Glen Luchford, the 26-year-old actress looks dead on the face, with her eyes lost in the distance. Rooney is given the high-fashion treatment with an edgy Alexander McQueen headpiece.

Rooney tells the magazine that she identifies a lot with a very dark Lisbeth Salander, who she portrays in David Fincher‘s ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo‘.

“I was a pretty dark person to begin with. I have always been more drawn to darkness, and I think Lisbeth is very dark. I mean, she has a lot of pain but she’s not someone who is carrying around a hurt… There are no wounds left. She’s all scar tissue”, Rooney explains to Dazed & Confused.

Rooney Mara Piggybacks Daniel Craig For EW

The stars of the soon-to-be-released David Fincher movie ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo‘, Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, cover the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine.

The 43-year-old heartthrob carries the 26-year-old starlet on his back, with Rooney channeling Lisbeth Salander‘s 70s punk/80s goth style.

Rooney tells the magazine that even though her portrayal of Lisbeth demanded that she perform some grueling tasks, she wasn’t unfazed by them.

“There were certainly things I was scared to do, but I never thought I wasn’t up for the challenge. The motorcycle was the thing I really didn’t want to do. You know, you’re going to be raped [On screen], be naked… But as soon as he [Fincher] was like, ‘You’re going to have to ride a motorcycle’, I was like, ‘Oh, really?’”, Rooney points out to EW.

Rooney Mara Snags A Vogue Cover

Anna Wintour is yet again launching the career of a fresh face with the November issue of US Vogue, by putting an almost unknown on the cover.

Actress Rooney Mara, who will get her big breakout role playing damaged bisexual Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher’s ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ this Fall, has snagged herself her first Vogue cover. The 26-year-old dons a black sleeveless Ralph Lauren gown with a dragon-embroidered back from the Fall 2011 collection — amazing detailing. The raven-haired actress rocks nude lips on the goth-inspired cover.

Another pleasant surprise is that Rooney was lensed by famed photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, making it their maiden US Vogue cover too.

Rooney had a cameo in last season’s critically acclaimed and Oscar-winning ‘The Social Network’, and this season it could be her turn to enjoy the spotlight as her performance in ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ is already causing some Oscar buzz.
