Blake Lively Goes Black For LA Times

Gossip Girl‘ hottie Blake Lively looks her usual chic self on the cover of the June issue of the LA Times Magazine.

The 24-year-old actress, with her wavy blonde locks parted on side and let loose on the shoulders, dons a black Dolce & Gabbana silk ruched dress as well as a matching Kiki de Montparnasse siren silk and mesh dress, on the Matt Jones-shot cover.

Blake talks to the magazine about why she’s always offered drug addict roles.

“I tend to play characters that are tough — often drug addicts. I’ve never tried a drug. I don’t know how I always end up as these sexually charged drug addicts. The third time I got a character like that, I was like, ‘Wait, I’ve done this before!’”, Blake explains to the LA Times.

After the jump the ‘Savages’ starlet looks edgy in a Gucci tulle longsleeve drape top with embroidery, and feathery pencil skirt.

Emilia Clarke Rocks Big Hair For LA Times

Game Of Thrones‘ vixen Emilia Clarke looks almost unrecognizable on the cover of the May issue of the LA Times magazine, as she trades Daenerys Targaryen’s signature blonde locks for a larger than life mop top.

The pint-size English actress strikes a quirky pose for the lens of Ruven Afanador in a Bottega Veneta strapless dress.

For her offbeat editorial below, Emilia rocks pieces by Dolce & Gabbana, Paco Rabanne, Blumarine and Christian Louboutin.

Viola Davis Flaunts Black Beauty In LA Times

Viola Davis showed that she meant serious business when she stole a win at the Critics’ Choice Awards from Meryl Streep, and a few weeks later infamously did the same at the SAG Awards, delivering a stirring acceptance speech in the process, that included the powerful mantra ‘Dream big and dream fierce’. Now the multiple Tony Award-winning actress has ensured her place as the clear favourite to win ‘Best Actress’ at this year’s Oscars for her heart-wrenching performance in ‘The Help‘, which would make her only the second African-American actress to do so in the 83-year history of the awards.

The 46-year-old celebrates black beauty, with her natural short nappy hair and sensual dark complexion, on the cover of the February issue of the LA Times magazine. Photographed by Ruven Afanador, Viola dons a Marchesa longsleeve high-neck re-embroidered lace dress with organza flower shoulder detail.

Viola discusses with the magazine how it is like to be an actress of colour in Hollywood.

“That really is our plight, especially as women of color. You can have all the training in the world, come from a respectable background and yet never get that big opportunity that breaks you out — Never… You can be in the business for 23 years, which I have been, and suddenly something happens that wakes people up. For me, that was being in a movie [Doubt] with Meryl Streep, Amy Adams and Philip Seymour Hoffman. It makes people realize you’re there. Otherwise you’re that black girl who had a guest or costar role in a TV show here or there”, Viola points out to the LA Times.

Head below for a look at Viola striking some supermodel-worthy poses in her gorgeous editorial.

George Clooney Dapper For LA Times

Hunky actor George Clooney covers the December issue of the LA Times magazine, promoting his humanitarian work in Africa, rather than his Oscar buzzworthy film ‘The Ides Of March‘.

Rocking his signature close clipped salt-and-pepper hair, the 50-year-old suits up in Hugo Boss, while posing under the lens of Ruven Afanador.

Clooney tells the magazine what he has learned from U2 frontman Bono on doing humanitarian work.

“The one thing I learned from Bono early on, was you have to pick [a cause] you specifically want to work on, and you have to really engage. You have to be more knowledgeable than most reporters would be on it, so that when they try to make you sound stupid because you’re just an actor…you go, ‘Well, I can name all the rebel leaders, and I have [their numbers] on my phone’”, Clooney shares with the LA Times.
