Last night (12 February) was music’s big night, with the 54th annual Grammy Awards taking place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. While the show was overshadowed by the shocking and sudden death of R&B diva Whitney Houston, the Grammys still attempted to put on a great show, that included a lovely Whitney Houston tribute by ‘American Idol‘ alum Jennifer Hudson. It was of course British goddess Adele‘s big night, winning all six of her nominations. Other big winners included Kanye West and Foo Fighters, with English producer Paul Epworth and indie folk band Bon Iver getting their moment to shine too.
The stars came out all glammed-up in big numbers on the red carpet, with fan favourite Lady Gaga deciding to skip it all. Check it out below:
BEST-DRESSED: Katy Perry looked stunning in a three-quarter sleeve Elie Saab embellished floral appliqué gown, matching her blue hair.
Carrie Underwood opted for a bridal look in a white longsleeve Gomez-Gracia silver sequined dress.
BEST-DRESSED: Blonde-haired Rihanna looked drop dead sexy in an Armani custom gown, with a plunging neckline and dramatic back. Riri helped design the Michelle Pfeiffer Scarface-inspired dress.
With her hair up in a bun, Country sensation Taylor Swift graduated from her usual strapless gowns, by going for a Zuhair Murad capsleeve gown, with a high-neck.
BEST-DRESSED: Rocking retro curls and popping red lips, Adele showed off her curves in Armani.
Rapper Nicki Minaj had everyone talking, by channeling Little Red Riding Hood in her Versace satin robe.

Fishnet-faced Lady Gaga didn’t disappoint in custom gold and black Versace. Pity we couldn’t see the ensemble in motion.

‘The Voice‘ mentor Christina Aguilera looks drop dead gorgeous on the cover of the February issue of US Marie Claire magazine.
The 31-year-old singer is the quintessential Hollywood bombshell, as she strikes a sexy pose for the lens of Tesh, wearing a white jacket with a navy trim and rocking voluminous blonde curls.
Xtina discusses her recent weight gain with the magazine.
“I’ve been through my highs, I’ve been through my lows; I’ve been through the gamut of all things in this business. Being too thin. Being bigger. I’ve been criticized for being on both sides of the scale. It’s noise I block out automatically. I love my body. My boyfriend loooves my body. My son is healthy and happy, so that’s all that matters to me”, Xtina tells Marie Claire.

Jessica Alba has never played it safe, she has always been a sex symbol, even opting for dominant female roles in movies such as Fantastic Four and Sin City. But her latest high-fashioned editorial spread styled by Alice Gentilucci in the April issue of Vogue Italia is the eagerest I have ever seen the mom to be.
Sporting a fierce black short bob, with super-straight bangs, the actress shows off her dominatrix side as she poses for the lenses of famed photographer Michelangelo Di Battista. The make-up is heavy, the scenery is harsh and the clothes are very dark, bringing out Jessica’s inner femme fatale.
The photoshoot is part goth, part vampire and part female assassin. Jessica lurks behind darks alleys, get intimate with a rusty vintage car while donning designs by Chanel, Lanvin, Prada and more.
Check out the full photoshoot:

After almost a 10-year absence of not releasing a new studio album, rock band No Doubt announced that they are working on new material last year. Frontwoman Gwen Stefani talks a bit about the upcoming album in the May issue of Elle magazine.
The female rocker says they have already recorded 10 songs, with most of them recorded in Los Angeles.
“All of it, yeah [is being recorded in Los Angeles]. Because Tony [Kanal] has a studio in his house. It’s amazing. He has this old house overlooking Hollywood – it’s all windows. I made him put up curtains because I’m like, ‘I don’t know if I can write with all windows. It needs to be dark in here.’ We’ve already recorded 10 songs”, She tells Elle.
Stefani who last recorded an album with No Doubt during the 2001″Rock Steady” says there isn’t that much pressure to releases the record after such a long period.
“Everyone’s always like, ‘When’s the record coming out!’ I think after doing the solo records, I just felt out of ideas. We tried writing, and I tried writing, and I couldn’t write. So we were like, ‘You know what? Let’s just go on tour, and that will inspire us”, Stefani says.
The L.A.M.B. fashion designer poses for the lenses of photographer Dusan Reljin in designs of her own and more. Here is the spread:

The first lady of Young Money Nicki Minaj cleans up for her fashion spread in the May issue of Elle magazine. Photographed by Terry Tsiolis the Hip Hop prodigy ditches her usual eccentric big wigs and colourful elaborate outfits for a more glamorous yet eager look.
The barbie doll rapper who’s success is often compared to that of Lauryn Hill during her early days and her style to that of nemesis Lil Kim says her success is attributed to the fact that she thinks of herself as one of the boys and not just another female rapper.
“When I write, I don’t try to compete with any other female rapper. The only way you’re going to push your pen is to think, I’ve got to shut these dudes down”, Nicki tells Elle.
The 26-year-old further tells the magazine that she has turned down many offers in the past to write sexually explicit lyrics, citing she is more than just a sex symbol.
“I’ve turned down like a billion of requests for sexually explicit lyrics. People just have to just start understanding that it’s not the only thing I have to talk about, it?’s not the only thing I want to talk about, it’s not the only thing I’m going to talk about”, she explains in Elle.
Nicki also explains one of her many alter egos in the magazine, Roman Zolanski, saying: “Roman is a weird little alter ego who is very flamboyant and doesn’t give a damn. You know when I’m doing really weird voices, growling, being real crazy, and talking like Anna Nicole Smith? That’s Roman”.
Here is her fashion spread in the magazine:
