Q Magazine 25th Anniversary Issue: The Florence Welch Cover

Indie rock band Florence and The Machine’s lead female vocalist Florence Welch looks stunning with her red hair slicked back on the cover of the November issue of Q magazine. Photographed by Alex Lake, the ‘What The Water Gave Me’ belter brings her vintage style to the magazine, wearing a gold longsleeve bodysuit.

The British music magazine is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and to honour this huge milestone the publication will have 25 collector’s issues — and two bonus ones — starring the most important acts who are shaping music at present. Acts such as Coldplay, Arcade Fire, Dizzee Rascal and Paolo Nutini will each get their own special covers, with exclusive interviews.

If that wasn’t enough the magazine will also have a limited edition cover that features legendary Welsh band Manic Street Preachers and comes with a special vinyl version of the rock group’s forthcoming singles collection ‘National Treasures’ as well as a subscriber’s issue cover featuring American rapper Jay-Z. Now that’s how you celebrate a 25th birthday.

Coldplay is BACK…

Following their critically acclaimed 2008 album ‘Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends’, Rock band Coldplay is back with a tongue twisting new album ‘Mylo Xyloto’ expected to drop on 24 October.

Coincidentally Chris Martin and the gang just happen to cover this week’s issue of Billboard magazine photographed by Sarah Lee.

Chris tells the magazine the following on the new record:

“The hope is for the record to be free from any musical kind of box. It very much comes from the Brian Eno professorship of, ‘Go anywhere. As long as it’s you guys, you can go anywhere’. (The album is) a story…loosely a kind of romance in an oppressive environment”.
