
Award season has just ended, so it’s only fitting that The Hollywood Reporter has just released its third Annual Stylist Issue, profiling and ranking 25 of the season’s most powerful tastemakers.
THR honours the edition with four separate covers, one of which features ‘Blood Ties’ actress Zoe Saldana and her stylist Petra Flannery. Petra, who also styles Mila Kunis, Claire Danes, Megan Fox, Emma Stone and Faith Hill; is ranked as the #2 Most Powerful Stylist of the year by the magazine.

Sunday, 27 January, saw the Screen Actor Guild (SAG) hand out its iconic nude male figure, mostly referred to as ‘The Actor’, to outstanding performers of the season in both the small and big screen. The Ben Affleck-directed hostage-crisis film ‘Argo‘ once again took top honours at the SAG Awards, further positioning itself as a strong contender for ‘Best Picture’ at the Oscars. The 19th Annual SAG Awards also recognized Jennifer Lawrence, Claire Danes, Daniel Day-Lewis and more.

On Sunday night (13 January), it was the turn of the 90+ members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) to make their top selections in television and film excellence at the 70th Annual Golden Globes. Actor-turned-filmmaker Ben Affleck was once again the top pick of the night, snagging both ‘Best Director’ and ‘Best Picture (Drama)’ for his masterpiece ‘Argo‘. Other big winners of night included ‘Girls‘ creator Lena Dunham, everything ‘Homeland‘, Hugh Jackman, Christoph Waltz and Daniel Day-Lewis.
Held at the Beverly Hilton hotel, everyone in Hollywood came out to play, dolled-up in red pops, basic blacks, shimmering golds, asymmetrical cuts and bold prints. Checkout the standout red carpet looks, below:
Country sensation Taylor Swift looked almost unrecognizable in a seductive dark plum Donna Karan frock, with a mermaid skirt.

BEST-DRESSED: Rocking a side-braid, freckle-faced Lucy Liu had a princess moment in a strapless floral print Carolina Herrera ballgown.

The blonde-haired ‘Homeland‘ actress looks lovely in a white embellished Just Cavalli top on the Carter Smith-shot cover.
Claire opens up to the magazine about how it’s like to be a first-time mother.
“I’ve always wanted to have kids, but I’m glad I didn’t until now. When I was thinking about [working and being a mother] originally, I was really nervous about it…I think I would make a lousy stay-at-home mom. It just wouldn’t suit me. I feel so fortunate, in that I’ve had this arrow-straight focus…that I wanted to act”, Claire points out to ELLE.
For her editorial, styled by regular contributor Joe Zee, the 33-year-old works around her pregnancy bump in designs from Tom Ford, Chloe and Narciso Rodriguez.

“It’s arguable that being in love and being mentally ill are sort of similar [laughs]. But it’s true I went through this ardourous decade and it did get a bit tiresome after awhile — you want to be defined in some other way. I was frustrated by that”, Claire explains to Flare.

“Carrie is perceptive but her fixation on keeping the world safe is so intense that it overrides that. She also has to be so vigilant in maintaining her own well-being. She has a bomb ticking inside of her that she is always monitoring”, Claire points out to T.
For her editorial, photographer Cass Bird captures Claire on the streets of Tel Aviv, where a few episodes of the upcoming second season of ‘Homeland’ were filmed.
