Feast your eyes at the new faces of NBC’s new music competition show “The Voice”. Yes, this is the first promotional photo from the Mark Burnett (the guy who brought us “Survivor” and “The Apprentice”) produced show, featuring four of its celebrity judges – pop diva Christina Aguilera, rapper Cee Lo Green, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and Country singer Blake Shelton.
The show not only features young faces on its judging panel, but it is also no mundane singing competition show like American Idol and The X-Factor. The show has a fresh and innovative concept to it.
The Voice, which is an American version of a Dutch program “The Voice of Holland” , pride itself in that it has a distinguished audition process. During the auditioning stage, the judges cannot see the singers as they perform, allowing them to assess the participants solely on their vocal talent rather than their physical appearance.
If they approve of the audition, the judges will push a button sending the competitor to the next round, claiming them as one of their students in the process.
However, if more than one judge likes the singer, then the competitor gets
the opportunity to choose the judge they will like to have mentor them. Once the judges have decided on their teams , they will mentor their contestants and eventually duel the teams against each other, with viewers picking the winners.
The show sounds very exciting and the judging panel sounds like a talented and opinionated bunch. Just like American Idol put Jennifer Lopez back on top of her game, this could also be Christina’s big break to shoot back into stardom. It will also be interesting to encounter Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton on a more personal level.
The show will be hosted by former MTV personality Carson Daly and will have a two-hour debut on April 26.
