‘Smash‘ star Katharine McPhee has scored a lovely summery feature, filled with bright flowers and sunshine blue skies, in the June issue of US Glamour magazine.
Sporting minimal slicked-back hair for the white-themed shoot, taken by Nicolas Moore, the ‘American Idol‘ alum talks to the magazine about life after Idol.
“After Idol, I met with Steven Spielberg, who had me in mind for Smash. It really does take time for projects to develop. I spent five or six years just plugging away, auditioning for so many things. Doing things like Shark Night 3D because I so badly wanted to work! The hardest part of the job is getting the job. That’s the job”, the 28-year-old explains to Glamour.

Coinciding with the release of her fourth studio album ‘Blown Away’, Country sensation Carrie Underwood adorns the cover of the June issue of US Glamour magazine.
The 29-year-old ‘American Idol‘ alum looks pretty in a Rochas dress on the Ben Watts-shot cover.
The ‘Good Girl’ singer talks to the magazine about the new album.
“There’s a happy-go-lucky feeling to some of it: A nice spring day, put the top down, turn it up, enjoy the world. But there’s a darker feeling too. We kill a couple people. It wouldn’t be a Carrie Underwood album without a revenge song on it. People really like when I do that. I don’t mean to. I don’t hate men that much. But it turns out so well!”, Carrie explains to Glamour.

It’s no secret that Jennifer Lopez has one of the most gorgeous bodies in Hollywood, so it comes as no surprise that the ‘American Idol‘ goddess has landed the cover of the April ‘Body Issue’ of US Vogue magazine.
Sporting side-swept hair, the 42-year-old singer looks statuesque, matching her Bottega Veneta chiffon dress with her ruby-red lips on the Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott-shot cover. The sea is becoming a familiar territory for Vogue, cover-stars such as Rihanna, Charlize Theron and Meryl Streep have all been snapped ashore in recent months. Maybe the deep blue sea gives Anna Wintour happy thoughts.

‘American Idol‘ Jennifer Lopez turns pro fighter on the cover of the Sports Issue #76 of V magazine.
Clad in a boxer’s attire and rocking a boyish hairdo, the 42-year-old singer goes androgynous for the lens of noted lensman Mario Testino.
Jennifer opens up to the magazine about her fascinating relationship with ex Marc Anthony.
“I mean, we’re parents and friends first. That will be the thread that ties us together. I don’t know if people expect it to be negative just because the [intimate] relationship didn’t work out”, JLo tells V.

As award season sadly drew to an end, all roads led to the Kodak Theatre in California for the 84th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday (26 February). Legendary actress Meryl Streep finally broke her 30-year curse on the night, by winning her 3rd Oscar for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in ‘The Iron Lady‘. But it was silent film ‘The Artist‘ which made history by becoming only the first silent film to win ‘Best Picture’, since the ‘Wings’ did so during the awards’ inception 83 years ago. ‘The Artist’ also won Michel Hazanavicius ‘Best Director’ and French heartthrob Jean Dujardin ‘Best Actor.
In true Oscar style, the red carpet did not disappoint, many stars dared to take risks. Head below to checkout if those risks worked in their favour or against:
Glenn Close showed some cleavege in a Zac Posen strapless gown, but kept it age appropriate with a matching jacket.
Meryl Streep knew way before everyone that she was going to strike gold on the night, thus she opted for a gold Lanvin dress.
BEST-DRESSED: Pixie-haired Michelle Williams gave us the most fashion forward look in her retro-meet-modern burnt orange Louis Vuitton gown, with a peplum skirt.
WORST-DRESSED: Penelope Cruz got it all wrong in her Armani off-the-shoulder frock. Too matronly.
Rocking her natural her, Viola Davis added a pop of colour on the red carpet in an emerald green Vera Wang corset gown.

Last night (12 February) was music’s big night, with the 54th annual Grammy Awards taking place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. While the show was overshadowed by the shocking and sudden death of R&B diva Whitney Houston, the Grammys still attempted to put on a great show, that included a lovely Whitney Houston tribute by ‘American Idol‘ alum Jennifer Hudson. It was of course British goddess Adele‘s big night, winning all six of her nominations. Other big winners included Kanye West and Foo Fighters, with English producer Paul Epworth and indie folk band Bon Iver getting their moment to shine too.
The stars came out all glammed-up in big numbers on the red carpet, with fan favourite Lady Gaga deciding to skip it all. Check it out below:
BEST-DRESSED: Katy Perry looked stunning in a three-quarter sleeve Elie Saab embellished floral appliqué gown, matching her blue hair.
Carrie Underwood opted for a bridal look in a white longsleeve Gomez-Gracia silver sequined dress.
BEST-DRESSED: Blonde-haired Rihanna looked drop dead sexy in an Armani custom gown, with a plunging neckline and dramatic back. Riri helped design the Michelle Pfeiffer Scarface-inspired dress.
With her hair up in a bun, Country sensation Taylor Swift graduated from her usual strapless gowns, by going for a Zuhair Murad capsleeve gown, with a high-neck.
BEST-DRESSED: Rocking retro curls and popping red lips, Adele showed off her curves in Armani.
Rapper Nicki Minaj had everyone talking, by channeling Little Red Riding Hood in her Versace satin robe.

Fishnet-faced Lady Gaga didn’t disappoint in custom gold and black Versace. Pity we couldn’t see the ensemble in motion.
