Rolling Stone, iTunes and Billboard are not only the biggest music powerhouses of our era, but they also agree on one thing, British songtress Adele was hot property this year.
Billboard has just named the 23-year-old as their 2011 Top Artist Of The Year, with her hit single ‘Rolling In The Deep‘ scooping the deserved title of ‘Single Of The Year’, and her sophomore album ‘21‘ beating the likes of Lady Gaga‘s ‘Born This Way‘ for ‘Album of the Year’.
The latest issue of the magazine recognizes Adele’s influence in music this year with a special year-end cover. The ‘Set Fire To The Rain‘ belter reflects to the magazine on what kind of year she has had.
“It’s been the most erratic year. It’s been fucking brilliant and exciting and emotional. Professionally, it’s been a year that will define my life forever. But because of the success, obviously
things have been unearthed and people have crawled out of the woodwork publicly and privately. But that’s to be expected”, Adele tells Billboard.
